Window Wraps Chicago

At BannerFreaks, we design and install window wraps in Chicago that businesses, schools, and homeowners use to turn plain glass into a branded, high-impact surface. Whether you need perforated window wraps on a storefront in Wicker Park, frosted privacy film for a Loop office, or a full-coverage coming soon window wrap during a retail buildout in Naperville, we handle everything from start to finish.

Every project is measured to the actual glass, specified to the environment, and installed by our in-house experts. We ensure your vinyl window wraps look intentional, perform correctly, and last as long as they’re supposed to.

Why Chicago Businesses Choose BannerFreaks for Window Wraps

Vinyl on glass behaves differently than it does on drywall or brick, and installers who don’t account for that produce results that show it. Glass is non-porous; adhesive that works fine on a textured wall can trap air bubbles on glass if the technique isn’t adjusted. Glass also transmits light, so any inconsistency in the vinyl opacity or uneven laminate edges shows up the moment light hits it from behind.

Our team specializes in window wraps for businesses with a specific focus on glass surfaces. We use a wet installation method on full-coverage window vinyl wraps to eliminate bubbling and allow for precise repositioning before the adhesive sets. This ensures your commercial window wraps look seamless, even when backlit by the afternoon sun.

Every Window Orientation Gets Assessed

A south-facing Chicago storefront in July takes direct sun for most of the day, while a north-facing Loop high-rise gets indirect light year-round. The vinyl, adhesive, and laminate we specify for these exterior window wraps are different because the environmental load on the material is different.

Before we spec any custom window wraps, we visit the site to note the window orientation, the glazing type, and how the interior climate control interacts with the glass. This technical assessment ensures your window wraps for advertising don’t crack, peel, or fail prematurely due to Chicago’s extreme temperature swings.

One Team Handles Everything

Design, print, and installation are all handled in-house at BannerFreaks. We don’t have situations where an installer shows up with a roll of vinyl they’ve never seen before and tries to “figure it out” on-site. The same team that reviews your window dimensions and specifies the material is the team that prints the panels and puts them on the glass.

For custom window wraps requiring precise alignment, especially on multi-pane storefronts, this continuity is vital. It’s what makes the finished storefront window wraps look like a single, cohesive graphic rather than several pieces struggling to line up.

Materials We Use for Chicagoland Businesses and Why It Matters

Window wraps at BannerFreaks are specified by material first, not by what’s easiest to print. Perforated vinyl — the 60/40 one-way vision film most people picture when they hear “window wrap” — works for storefront advertising because it delivers a solid, full-color graphic to the street while keeping sight lines and natural light intact on the interior. For applications that need full opacity, a coming-soon retail buildout, a ground-floor privacy treatment, or a frame-and-trim update on an older Chicago commercial building, we move to cast vinyl window film or aluminum composite material instead. Cast film is dimensionally stable on large glass panels where cheaper calendered material shrinks and bubbles over time. Frosted and translucent options are available for offices that need light diffusion without a complete blackout.

All advertising graphics are printed on our Roland TrueVIS platform using TR2 eco-solvent ink, and that specific ink choice matters on glass. Glass is rigid and non-porous — it expands and contracts with temperature, and an inflexible ink system micro-cracks at the panel edges when that movement happens. TR2’s flexible ink film handles seasonal expansion without compromising the print layer. Resolution is output at 150 DPI for standard street-viewing distances and 200 DPI for interior-facing graphics where viewers are at close range. Adhesive is matched to the job’s lifespan — pressure-sensitive permanent adhesive for exterior storefront installations, low-tack removable adhesive for seasonal campaigns and temporary buildouts that need to come off glass cleanly without heat guns or residue.

For window wraps that are spec’d right, installed to last, and printed to perform — BannerFreaks is the call.

Window Wraps Project Success Stories: Chicago & Surrounding Suburbs

Dominic Ferrera

Lincoln Square, Chicago

Our café windows had been blank since we opened three years ago. BannerFreaks came out, measured everything, and came back with a design that actually worked with the architecture of the building rather than just slapped on top of it. The install took one morning. The change in how people react to the space from the street is immediate.

Kelsey Moran

Naperville, IL

We needed a coming soon wrap for our retail buildout on Washington Street. BannerFreaks had panels printed and installed within a week of our first call. More importantly, we had people stopping to read it and ask about the opening date before we’d done any other marketing. That wrap did real work for us

Andre Tillman

Schaumburg, IL

I was worried perforated vinyl would block too much light from our showroom interior. BannerFreaks walked me through the 50/50 ratio, what the view would look like from inside, and why the black backing on the material matters. They were right about all of it. Interior visibility is fine and the exterior graphic is sharp.

Brian Jones

Ferndale, CA

Our office is street-level and we needed privacy film on the front windows without making the space feel like a closed box. BannerFreaks specified a translucent frosted cast film that diffuses the view from outside while keeping the interior feeling open and bright. Exactly what we needed and nothing we would have known to ask for without their guidance.

Brett Callahan

Oak Park, IL

Our school’s front windows face the main drop-off area and have been plain glass forever. The installation of BannerFreaks, completed, school colors, mascot, and some motivational text changed the entire feel of the entrance. Parents notice it, students notice it. Small things with a big impact.

Vanessa Okafo

Wicker Park, Chicago

We run seasonal window promotions for our boutique and BannerFreaks handles the printing and installation every time. The removable vinyl comes off cleanly between campaigns without any residue on the glass, which was my biggest concern going in. Three campaigns in and the glass still looks perfect.

FAQs on Window Wrap Performance in Chicago & Suburbs

What are window wraps and how are they different from window decals?

A window wrap is a large-format vinyl installation that covers a significant portion or the entirety of a glass surface, a full storefront window, a series of office windows, or a building façade. A window decal is typically a smaller, cut graphic element applied to a specific area of glass. Wraps are produced as printed panels; decals are usually cut from solid-color vinyl or printed at a smaller scale. Both serve different purposes, and we produce both. The right choice depends on how much of the window you need to cover and what the installation needs to communicate.

Can people inside see out through a perforated window wrap?

Yes. Window Back wraps on vehicles use perforated vinyl so the driver maintains rear visibility while the exterior displays a full-color graphic. Vehicle window installations are a slightly different workflow than building glass; the curved surface of automotive glass requires a cast vinyl with enough conformability to lay flat without wrinkling, but it’s within our standard capabilities. Reach out with your vehicle make and model and we’ll spec accordingly.
